Electronic Platform for Collecting, Analysing and Sharing Digital Resources on Medical Events (P1, e-Health)
Project P1, the Electronic Platform for Collecting, Analysing and Sharing Digital Resources on Medical Events, is the central system for digitising healthcare in Poland, built in stages since 2007. Phase 1 (2007–2015) covered the design and development of the platform's products (subsystems); its total implementation cost was set at PLN 712,640,000.00, of which approximately 85% was to come from EU funds under the Innovative Economy Operational Programme. The project was managed by the Centre for Health Information Systems (CSIOZ), transformed in 2020 into the e-Health Centre. Phase 1 failed to meet its planned deadlines. In February 2016 it was reported that the P1 Platform was not functioning as a whole, and identified irregularities and reports to the prosecutor's office led to the termination of contracts with contractors and a 'fresh start' for the project. Key e-services were rolled out in subsequent years: the e-prescription became mandatory nationwide from 8 January 2020, followed by the launch of e-referral, the Patient's Internet Account (together with the mojeIKP application), medical events, and the exchange of electronic medical records. Phase 2 (2016–2022) and the currently ongoing Phase 3 continue the platform's development.

Significance
The P1 Platform is the largest healthcare digitisation project in Poland, creating a central, nationwide infrastructure for exchanging medical data. It underpins widely used health e-services, including the e-prescription, e-referral and the Patient's Internet Account, used by patients and medical facilities across the country. After a difficult start burdened by the delays and irregularities of Phase 1, the system became the foundation of Poland's healthcare digitisation and allows facilities to exchange medical records electronically free of charge.
