Everything we said wrong and what we did about it. 90 entries, the oldest from 2026-08-28. A record's verification date tracks the monthly review rather than a single fix, so the fixes live here.

What lands here

A change after which the site says something DIFFERENT from what it said, not a plain addition. Adding a source to a record is not a correction; changing an owner, an amount, or an assessment of schedule, cost or scope is. 47 of 90 name a specific record, the rest concern the way the site presented its figures.

  1. the site as a wholeerror in how we presented itcaught by: the review panel
    Was
    The losses card showed “17 bn” for an amount of 16800 mln, even though the source quote under the same field says “PLN 16.8 billion” - the shared amount-formatting function zeroed the decimal place for every value from 10 bn upward, regardless of whether that specific amount actually has a nonzero tenth. Three panel judges independently found this on the Olefiny III card.
    Is now
    The amount formatter got an optional flag that shows one decimal place when the amount is not an exact multiple of a thousand million - turned on only for losses (write-offs, allegations, settled), not for costs, where zeroing the decimal place guards against the opposite mistake: implying precision a cost estimate doesn't have.
    What settled it
    The amount on a card and the quote beneath it should say the same thing; a rounding rule that changes the visible figure is the same defect as a wrong quote, just on the other side of the receipt.

    Was
    The same rounding defect (see the entry above) also lived in two more places, both live on today's data: the summary sentence on /nie-wyszlo (and /en/failed), and the catalog header under the “failed” filter - the second of those through its OWN, independent copy of the same rounding formula, not a call into the shared, already-fixed function. The prior commit's own adversarial review found both, independently of the panel.
    Is now
    /nie-wyszlo got the same optional flag as the record card, turned on only for loss sums, not cost sums. The catalog got the same conditional logic added locally to its own copy of the formula, rather than (for now) merging the two copies into one.
    What settled it
    One figure cannot carry two different renderings on two pages of the same site; the second copy of the formula carries the same defect until it gets the same fix.

  3. Central Communication Port Programme (CPK Multi-Year Programme 2024–2032)error in the record datacaught by: the review panel
    Was
    The outcome.schedule field (value “delayed”) rested solely on a Wikipedia quote, the only place in the record that directly pairs the original year (2027) with the current one (2032) in one sentence. Three panel judges independently flagged this as an axis that shouldn't stand on Wikipedia alone.
    Is now
    A second, non-Wikipedia quote from PAP Biznes (“the new schedule provides for...”) was added - the same quote already stood in the record under timeline.planned_end_current. The original Wikipedia quote stayed, since it's the only place with the concrete year 2027; five other sources already in the record were checked and none states that year outright.
    What settled it
    An axis shouldn't rest solely on Wikipedia when the record already carries a quote from another source for the same point; adding a citation rather than swapping one keeps the only concrete year the record has.

    Eight pairs from the panel's random sample (seed 201) rested on quotes that did not state the card's value, or had none. Gdynia breakwaters: stage “permits” on a future-tense announcement of construction works. Poznań clinical hospital: location with no city name in the quote. Warsaw Hub: location via a roundabout, with no city or voivodeship. Łagisza: the main member of the investor's name (“TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A.”) with no quote at all. Ostrołęka C: status “cancelled” on a sentence about suspended financing, not about abandoning construction. WWE Targówek: the name member “Rozbudowa” (expansion) with no quote. Tram to Wilanów: the original deadline “Jun 2024” on a source giving “the first half of 2024”, with no explanation of the month. PKM: the member “a company set up by the Pomeranian voivodeship's local government” on a sentence about the scale of the local government's investment, not about founding the company.
    Is now
    Gdynia breakwaters: a sentence on the water-law permit issued in January 2026 and the building-permit application filed since. Poznań clinical hospital: the quote extended to the sentence naming the City of Poznań. Warsaw Hub: a sentence carrying the investment’s name, which includes “Warsaw” (the previous quote located it only by a roundabout, with no city name at all). Łagisza: a sentence on TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. as the unit's operator. Ostrołęka C: a sentence on the decision to abandon the coal unit and Enea's full withdrawal. WWE Targówek: a sentence on the contract for the incinerator's expansion. Tram to Wilanów: a note explaining that a deadline given as a period is read on the card as its last month. PKM: a sentence from the company's own site that the Pomeranian voivodeship's local government founded it on 11 June 2010.
    What settled it
    The card's value and the quote beneath it should say the same thing; a sentence about investment scale or a future announcement does not state the stage, status or corporate founding that the card prints.

    On ten cards the receipt for a field was the page title, which appears more than once in the visible text (heading and breadcrumbs) and is not a sentence of the body: A1 Stryków – Tuszyn (status), PepsiCo Święte (stage), Data4 Jawczyce (stage), WISŁA programme (stage), Żelazny Most (stage), Płock CCGT (stage and utilisation), F-35 base at Świdwin (location), Martwa Wisła terminal (status and stage), Północ power plant (stage: the title “without a building permit” under the stage “permits”), Hydrogen Eagle (funding).
    Is now
    Under each of those fields stands a sentence from the body of the same page that states the card's value: the opening of the A1 section, the plant opened on 31 May, the first campus building delivered in 2023, the 37th Squadron's full operational capability as the completion of the first phase of the WISŁA programme, the completed expansion of Żelazny Most, the completion protocol of the Płock unit (beside it, under stage and utilisation, now also stands the sentence on handover to commercial operation, so far only under status, and the block's member on the forecast of about 7 TWh got a sentence of its own, which it lacked), the West Pomeranian voivodeship, the first commercial transhipment on 15 July, the building permit of March 2015 annulled in December 2015, PLN 1.7 billion from the National Recovery Plan (KPO) for the Green H2 and Hydrogen Eagle programmes.

    A receipt should be a sentence of the body that appears once on the page and states the value; a page title carries no date or scope and can contradict the field.

    Stage “construction”, resting on a sentence about the schedule of the first-stage contract (city release of April 2023: “Realizacja inwestycji zajmie zgodnie z umową 24 miesiące, a oddanie gotowych obiektów zaplanowano na pierwszą połowę 2025 roku”, that is delivery within 24 months, completion in the first half of 2025), while the timeline had said “tender” since May 2025.
    Is now
    Stage “tender”: the concert hall, the main scope, is past a resolved tender (Warbud, city release of 12 August 2026) and before a contract; the first stage (modernisation of three historic buildings) gets scope notes under construction start, the timeline row and the status; the contract-schedule sentence no longer supports the stage and has left the card.
    What settled it
    The card's stage should speak of the main scope and rest on a sentence about the state, not on a contract schedule; the record's own timeline already said so.

    Several values from the panel's random sample (seed 197) rested on quotes that did not state them. BESS Ełk: a “private finance” row on a sentence about who carries out the investment. Inspiro: “35 sześciowagonowych składów Inspiro dostarczonych i eksploatowanych na liniach M1 i M2” (35 six-car Inspiro trainsets delivered and operated on lines M1 and M2) on a sentence about 15 trainsets on M1, period 2026. Wrocław stadium: three Euro 2012 matches and 42,771 seats without a quote under those members, period 2026. Miejska Górka: announcement 2024-09 on an undated wire headline. PGE Narodowy: stage “operational” on a sentence about appointing the operator. KPO C1.1.1: status “in progress” on a forecast. Wrocław stadium: sentences on three group-stage matches and on 42,771 seats (league configuration, with a note); period 2022. Miejska Górka: the TAURON release dateline of 24 September 2024 (with a note that the date is the dateline). PGE Narodowy: the sentence on the 29 January 2012 inauguration.     Seven cards gave a slip stored in the data from reading a year-only deadline as June, half a year off from the rest of the service, which since 13 September reads such a deadline as the end of the year: Warszawa Zachodnia 29 months, Warsaw-Radom airport 34, the Poland – Slovakia gas interconnector 14, the Aegis Ashore base in Redzikowo 77, Metro M2 53, the E59 Poznań – Szczecin line 27, S19 Rzeszów – Babica 19.

    Slip counted from the end of the year given in the deadline: Warszawa Zachodnia 23 months (quote on the card: “over two years”), Radom 28, interconnector 8, Aegis Ashore 71, Metro M2 47, E59 Poznań – Szczecin 21, S19 13. The figure stays stored in the data, because the card would otherwise count the original date against the current one rather than against delivery.
    What settled it
    One reading of a year-only deadline across the service; two figures from the same dates cannot differ by half a year.

    Six values from the panel's random sample (September 2026) did not follow from the quote beneath them. K2PL: a “medium” domestic-share band on a quote estimating about 30% and about 15%. Saule: an investor with the addendum “main shareholder Columbus Energy”, while the quote names Olga Malinkiewicz as the largest shareholder. Lublin airport: “underused” on a forecast alone, and the 471,101 passengers attributed to 2024 instead of 2025. CPK and the Łódź cross-city tunnel: “partially delivered” on one finished element or on a sentence about the drilling plan. The timelines of the 1st Legions Infantry Division and Głogów Głęboki: a “construction” row dated by something the sentence does not give (a delivery date, or the article's date).

    K2PL: “low” band. Saule: no addendum. Lublin: “underused” on figures (over 188 thousand passengers in the first year against a 500 thousand forecast; 471,101 in 2025).   11. S17 Expressway Warsaw (Zakręt) – Kurów Zachód (part of the Warsaw – Lublin route)error in the record datacaught by: the source review
    Was
    The S17 Warsaw (Zakręt) – Kurów Zachód card gave delivery in 2020, and the data held a stored 12-month slip. 2020 is when the Lubelska – Kołbiel section opened, the last of the 95.5 km covered by the 2016 plan; the card's name and cost, however, cover the route from the Zakręt junction, and its last 2.5 km (Zakręt – Lubelska) opened to drivers on 22 December 2022. The “completed” status rested on a sentence about the Garwolin – Ryki Północ section opening in July 2019.
    Is now
    Delivery on 22 December 2022, on the GDDKiA project card for the Warszawa Wschód – Lubelska section, with a note that the original 2019 date covered the route without that section. The slip is computed from the dates instead of a stored figure; the timeline has a row for this opening; the sentences about the 2019 and 2020 sections say under the quote what they cover.
    What settled it
    A delivery date should cover what the card names, not what the plan covered. A sentence about one section does not prove the whole route is complete.

  12. A4 Motorway Tarnów (Krzyż interchange) – Rzeszów (Rzeszów Wschód interchange), including a section of the S19 expressway (Rzeszów Zachód interchange – Świlcza interchange)error in the record datacaught by: the source review
    Was
    The card gave delivery in 2015 and a “completed” status on the sentence “Project completion date per the annex: 30.06.2015”, that is the annexed settlement date of the EU project, not the road opening. The last section (Tarnów – Dębica) opened to drivers on 30 October 2014, the earlier ones in 2012 and 2013.
    Is now
    Delivery on 30 October 2014 on the GDDKiA release of that day; the annex date stays on the card as the last stated date. The annex sentence no longer proves the status or the delivery date.
    What settled it
    A project settlement plan is not a road's delivery date, even when it appears in the investor's document.

  13. S8 Expressway Wyszków – Mazowieckie/Podlaskie voivodeship border (Warsaw – Białystok direction)error in the record datacaught by: the source review
    Was
    The stage, the delivery date (October 2018) and the construction start (July 2015) rested on an EU projects database entry, “Project duration 07/2015 - 10/2018”, that is the planned implementation period, and the “completed” status on a sentence about one fragment (Ostrów Mazowiecka – voivodeship border).
    Is now
    Delivery on 19 October 2018, when the last section Wyszków – Poręba opened (GDDKiA project card, TVN Warszawa of that day); the gov.pl card of this investment gives 18 October and that discrepancy is recorded in the evidence. The construction start is empty, because no source on the card speaks of works beginning (contracts were signed in January and February 2016).
    What settled it
    A planned implementation period is neither a start date nor a delivery date. An empty field beats a date taken from a plan.

  14. 460 MW power generating unit (supercritical CFB) at Łagisza Power Stationerror in the record datacaught by: the source review
    Was
    The card gave the unit's handover to operation on 30 June 2009, after Wikipedia. Two sources published on 29 June 2009 say otherwise: wnp.pl reports a handover protocol signed on 27 June, PAP a unit already formally handed over.
    Is now
    Delivery on 27 June 2009 on the wnp.pl sentence; Wikipedia's date stays in the evidence as a discrepancy, and the quotes that give it carry a note. The card's description and its utilisation line give the same date.
    What settled it
    Press from the day of the handover beats an encyclopaedia written later, and a card cannot give two dates for the same event.

  15. Visbreaking unit at the Płock production facilityerror in the record datacaught by: the source review
    Was
    The Płock Visbreaking card rested its “completed” status, “operational” stage and 2025 delivery year on one sentence from ORLEN's Q3 2025 quarterly report, and the link led to a reports index where that sentence does not appear. The sentence says the unit was running by the end of September 2025, not when it started, so the delivery year was an inference. The independent-source count took the party from the address, so a company document published by a wire would have counted as a separate voice.
    Is now
    The link leads to the Q3 2025 report PDF in PAP's report archive (p. 54), the same file ORLEN publishes itself. The 2025 delivery year now rests on two ORLEN documents: the Q4 2024 report (p. 17) lists the unit among those under construction in 2024, and the Q3 2025 report (p. 54) says it was already running by the end of September 2025; under the Q4 2024 quote the card says what exactly it proves. The “second quarter of 2025” forecast from the 2024 management report sits in a note, not in a quote. A reference can now declare whose document it is, and the independent-source count honours that; Visbreaking stays at four.
    What settled it
    A reader should land on the sentence the card quotes, and a year on the card should rest on a document, not a guess. A distribution channel is not a second witness.

    A slip computed from a year-only deadline read that year as January, while the overdue check on the same card read it as December. The gap is eleven months on every such slip: E30 Kraków–Rzeszów showed “about 4 years” instead of 3, S1 Węgierska Górka “about 3 years” instead of 2, the sentence on diverging dates on the Kraków tram (stage III) and WTE Targówek cards gave a year too many, and five cards printed a sentence about dates two or three years apart where the consistent reading falls under two years and the sentence goes (Siekierkowski bridge, E59 Poznań–Szczecin, NFM Wrocław, 213 trams for Warsaw, S19 Rzeszów–Babica).
    Is now
    A year-only date reads as the end of that year everywhere, and delivery within the planned year is zero slip. One card, EFRA, now shows more than before (“about 2 years” instead of “under a year”), because a bare year on the delivery side is now its December, an upper bound; the card's own schedule quote puts readiness for start-up at 30 June 2019, so the true slip is about 15 months and neither reading gives it. The card marks such a figure as given as a year.
    What settled it
    Two figures from the same dates on one card cannot differ by a year. A deadline of “by the end of 2023” means December, not January.

    Three entries in the data: the delivery date of the Northvolt plant in Gdańsk, cut on 12 September to the bare year 2023 although the source gives May (“put into use in May this year”); the publication date of the article on the Martwa Wisła terminal recorded as June 2026 when the article on a 15 July event appeared on 22 July; the date of the WB Group release on the Warmate programme recorded as May 2026 when it appeared on 1 June.
    Is now
    Northvolt: delivery in May 2023, marked as taking its year from the source's publication date. Martwa Wisła: publication date 22 July 2026. Warmate: 1 June 2026, the same date as on the two other cards citing that release.
    What settled it
    Two publication dates were untrue, and from this change on the card prints them next to the quote; the review of the change found them. The Northvolt date returns to month precision because it was cut for exactly the reason the card can now state.

    Was
    Under a date on the card stood a quote giving the day and month but not the year, because the year sat in the article dateline (“on Tuesday, 15 July”). The card did not say where the year came from, and a reader checking the quote saw an uncovered date. The correction of 12 September promised the date would rest on the sentence that states it; in 56 quotes the sentence states it without the year.
    Is now
    Under such a quote the card says “year taken from the source's publication date” and gives that date; /api/evidence.json carries the same flag. 56 quotes were marked, after checking that the month in the quote is the value's month and the source is dated in that year. The rule of 12 September stands for the day and month; the year alone may come from the publication date when the card says so. Quotes that do not state the value's year and were not marked (110 on 13 September, 104 of them with no month at all) remain debt; a forecast quote is not marked either.
    What settled it
    Taking the year from the dateline is ordinary practice in Polish press and is not guesswork, but the reader should see it rather than infer it.

    On 58 cards the quote under a date did not state it the way the card prints it. The year stood only in the article dateline ("on 1 May this year commercial transmission started"), and sometimes the quote was about signing a contract or about a plan rather than the event.

    70 quotes are now a sentence that states the event with its date, from the same page or another reference of the record; 76 old ones left the source list. Three dates were lowered to month precision because the sentence gives only the month: Stalowa Wola (September 2020), the W-Z tram route in Łódź (October 2015) and the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (September 2015); the card text and the stage history now say the same. At Bogdanka the "announced" stage is September 2018, when the project was presented publicly, not the February 2019 intergovernmental memorandum.
    What settled it
    A date on a card has to rest on a sentence that states it, not on the article’s publication date.

    A bare name does not say that the entity is the investor; only a row label or a role sentence does.

    15 quotes are now a sentence about what the card shows: the opening of a road, works under way, the acceptance of all twenty trains, the cost of the border barrier (1,615 million zloty) or a postponed bid deadline.

    A receipt attests a row of the card, so it has to be about what that row shows.

    The card for the Wierzchowice gas storage expansion printed "Current date: 2026" on a 2023 sentence stating the original plan ("at the turn of 2025 and 2026").
    Is now
    The current-date row is gone, because no reference states it with a year in the text. The original date (2026) stays.
    What settled it
    A current date has to rest on a sentence about today’s deadline, not on an announcement made as work began.

    The Funding line printed free text with no quote behind it, while the source list showed quotes under the same label about sources the line did not name. On 39 cards without a cost figure there was no line at all, although funding receipts were listed.
    Is now
    The line names the types of source (state funds, EU funds, local government, state special fund, multilateral development bank, capacity market and others), each with a quote behind it, also on cards without a cost figure. When every item is intended rather than paid, the line says "planned funding", and a guarantee (such as the government one for Pendolino) is not an item. The old text stays in /api/projekty.json and is printed only where a record has no source types and the text has a quote.
    What settled it
    A receipt is meant to attest what the card shows, and the free text had no quote.

    On 47 cards the funding line named a source that no sentence in the record’s references links to the project, 55 items in all: the National Road Fund on roads where it rested on our inference or on a sentence about all road investments, 20% own funds on Bałtyk 2 and 3 (our arithmetic from 80% gearing), an application, possibility or intention instead of money granted (Kraków Airport, the north-south HVDC line, KPOSK, Olefins III, Warsaw metro line 3), an EU grant for the Łódź cross-city tunnel that was lost, and PHARE at Czorsztyn, which paid only for a study.
    Is now
    These items are gone from the cards and from funding_sources[]; the claims stay in the evidence layer as unsupported. 15 cards now have no funding line at all.
    What settled it
    A funding source on a card has to rest on a sentence that says who pays for this project.

    On 129 cards a quote under the Funding line did not say who pays for this project: it was a bare programme name or the tail of a table row, an amount without a payer, a sentence about another project or a whole programme, or an application instead of a grant.

    93 quotes were replaced by a sentence naming the payer and the project, from the same page or another reference of the record, two were added, and 69 left the source list because the item already has such a sentence or is gone from the card.
    What settled it
    The quote under a source type has to say that this payer funds this project.

    Several funding items had a type their quote contradicts: the EIB loan at Stalowa Wola as EU funds, PFR at Jaworzno III and the T5 terminal and the State Treasury at CPK as other sources, shares taken up by the State Treasury at EFRA as a state fund, a special-zone tax relief at the Mercedes plant as state funds, Dell’s contribution to the Łódź plant as private funding on a sentence about the state share; the EIB loan at GIPL sat under own funds, and the rest of the Oder 2006 funding was one item made of two rows of the act table.
    Is now
    The types match the quotes: multilateral development bank, state development bank or fund, state funds, other sources for the tax relief, the investor’s own funds for Dell (the Commission decision on the beneficiary’s own contribution); GIPL has a separate EIB loan item and Oder 2006 two items (the national and regional environmental funds, and municipalities with private sources).

    The “in progress” status says the investment is under way, not that anyone is digging. Among the 116 such records are announcements, permits and tenders, so the word “construction” claimed something the sources do not say.

    What settled it
    Two judges of the thirteenth panel noticed that the Digital domain was empty exactly where state registers should be. Along the way it turned out that the category-to-domain map had been copied into three files and one copy lacked the waste-to-energy category. There is now one map, checked automatically.

    The year 2018 rested on a 2018 GDDKiA page that itself says the last section was still to come. The verbatim audit of quotes set it against that section's own page and the report of its 2021 opening.

    All ten links pointed at github.com/kgluszczyk/megalo, and that repository is private, so every one of them returned a 404 to the reader. We built a promise of verifiability on something the reader cannot verify, on the one page in the service whose job is to earn trust. The hash stays as an identifier for correspondence: you can quote it in a message and get an answer, which a link to a 404 cannot do. The gate now asks every outgoing link on that page for its status code, and separately checks that the note promises no hash you can open.

    The column took the catalogue feed's “opening year”, and that field is empty by construction for anything cancelled or superseded: a project that never started has no opening year. On a page whose whole purpose is to list cancelled projects, that was 18 rows out of 21. The field was not lost, then, but chosen so that on this one page it could never fill. The records carried some date for 19 of 21 and a cost for 12 of 21 throughout, which left Olefiny III, the largest cancelled investment in the database, looking like a trifle with no date and no amount. The data holds no date of failure itself and we do not invent one, so the tooltip says which field the year comes from. The first version of this fix read only two fields and still printed “no date” when both were empty, even where the record's timeline held events from 2024 and 2025; the current one takes the earliest year across everything the record records. The gate's threshold is computed from the API, not picked by hand.

    Two claims quoted a sentence cut off after the first of five names: “The first spade […] was broken by prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki”.

    The quote carries the full list, as the source recorded it, and the retrieval date is the day we checked it again.
    What settled it
    The excerpt was faithful character for character, but the verb stayed plural, so the sentence read as though the prime minister had broken ground alone. The deputy Senate marshal, the MP, the government plenipotentiary for CPK and the head of PPL vanished from it. A judge on the eighth panel pointed this out, and a second judge went further and called the quote fabricated. It was not fabricated, and that is the worst of it: a truncated list looks like fabrication from the outside, and a quote is the only currency this service has. This record is the worked example in llms.txt and on /developers, so it is the one that shows how we handle a quote. The gate now catches a Polish plural verb followed by exactly one name and the end of the sentence.

    The record's loss is USD 500 mn from around 1990. We converted it at the site's fixed rate to PLN 2 bn and showed it next to a 2025 write-off, saying neither that it was a conversion nor from which year. While fixing that, we appended the source's currency code to the converted amount, so the card began printing “PLN 2.0 bn lost USD”: four times the documented figure, in the wrong units. That version was live in production. The record itself stated USD 500 mn correctly throughout; the error was in the catalogue card.

A promise that something will be built ahead of a date is not a settlement that it was. The record has no planned date either, so there was nothing to compare against.
