EcoGenerator is a Waste Thermal Treatment Plant located on Ostrów Grabowski in Szczecin, built for the Szczecin Metropolitan Area. Construction began in February 2014, and the plant started operating in December 2017 (the original completion deadline had been planned for December 2016). The plant was designed to process approximately 150,000 tonnes of municipal waste per year into electricity and heat, using two thermal-conversion lines. The investment was valued at PLN 698 million net; financing included a PLN 279 million grant from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2007–2013 (channelled via the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management), bonds issued to Bank Pekao SA, and the investor's own funds. The owner and operator is the municipal company Zakład Unieszkodliwiania Odpadów sp. z o.o. w Szczecinie (Waste Disposal Plant Ltd. in Szczecin). The general contractor was Mostostal Warszawa in 2012–2016, and from 2016 until completion, the Italian company TM.E S.p.A. Termomeccanica Ecologia.

Significance
EcoGenerator was one of several large municipal-waste thermal-treatment plants built in Poland with EU co-financing under the 2007–2013 perspective. The plant processes approximately 150,000 tonnes of waste per year from Szczecin and the Szczecin Metropolitan Area, generating electricity and heat (cogeneration turbine capacity of approximately 10 MWe and 30 MWt) and completing the regional waste management system in line with the EU waste-recovery hierarchy.
