Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław
The Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music is a concert hall with a complex of four smaller halls, built by the City of Wrocław at 1 Wolności Square in the city centre, designed by the Kuryłowicz & Associates studio. The building permit was issued on 8 February 2008, and on 22 December 2009 the City of Wrocław signed a construction contract with a consortium led by Mostostal Warszawa; construction work began in March 2010. On 5 October 2012 the main contractor (Mostostal Warszawa) halted construction, leaving the building in a shell-and-core state, and on 15 July 2013 a contract to complete the building was signed with a new consortium (PB Inter-System S.A. and Elektromontaż Rzeszów). The building was completed in 2015 and officially opened on 4 September 2015. The construction of the building with the main hall alone cost approximately PLN 360 million, of which approximately PLN 143 million was EU co-financing (European Regional Development Fund, Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship 2007-2013), with the City's own contribution amounting to approximately PLN 217 million; including the underground car park (approximately PLN 90 million) and the redevelopment of the square (approximately PLN 10 million), the total investment cost is estimated at approximately PLN 460 million. The investor was the City (gmina) of Wrocław. The main hall seats approximately 1,800 people, and NFM is one of the largest concert halls in Europe and serves, among other things, as the seat of the Wrocław Philharmonic.

Significance
The National Forum of Music is one of the largest and most modern concert halls in Poland and in Europe. The main hall seats approximately 1,800 listeners, and the whole building covers more than 48,000 m² of floor space. The building became a new landmark of Wrocław and one of the main venues for the European Capital of Culture Wrocław 2016 celebrations. NFM serves as the seat of the Wrocław Philharmonic and as the organiser of the city's concert life. Construction was delayed: after the first contractor (Mostostal Warszawa) halted work in October 2012, the building, originally due for completion in spring 2013, was not put into use until September 2015.
