National Teleinformatics Network for Emergency Number 112 (OST 112)
OST 112 is a dedicated, nationwide teleinformatics network built to handle the 112 emergency number, independent of commercial operators. The beneficiary and investor of the project was the MSWiA Information Technology Projects Centre (Centrum Projektów Informatycznych MSWiA), and the network was co-financed under the Operational Programme Innovative Economy (7th priority axis, "Information Society: Building Electronic Administration"). The total planned project budget was PLN 165 million, of which 85% (PLN 140,250,000) was co-financing from POIG and 15% (PLN 24,750,000) was the beneficiary's own contribution. In the tender procedure for the construction and deployment of the network, concluded on 28 December 2009, the offer of the company ATM SA was selected as the most advantageous; ATM designed and built the network based on the transmission links of Telekomunikacja Polska and Exatel. The implementation works, lasting almost twenty-seven months, were completed in 2012 (announcement of the network's readiness: 9 May 2012). The total value of the contracted works related to building the network (excluding the provision of telecommunications services) was approximately PLN 149 million gross. OST 112 covered the infrastructure of more than 900 locations important for the functioning of the Emergency Notification System, including Police headquarters, State Fire Service units, and voivodeship emergency notification centres. In later years, Exatel became the operator and contractor for the network's expansion (a 2017 contract worth almost PLN 200 million, building more than 1,000 km of new fibre-optic lines); the network, described as the state's largest fibre-optic network, today also serves the National Registers System and the Central Vehicle and Driver Register (CEPiK). This record concerns the original 2009-2012 build (beneficiary: CPI MSWiA, contractor: ATM, financing: POIG), not the later Exatel operating contract.

Significance
OST 112 was the state's first dedicated, nationwide teleinformatics network, built specifically to handle the 112 emergency number, independent of commercial operators' networks and linking more than 900 key locations of the Emergency Notification System (Police, State Fire Service, voivodeship emergency notification centres). It created a secure, state-owned transmission backbone which in later years became the foundation for the operation of further critical government systems: the National Registers System and the Central Vehicle and Driver Register (CEPiK). The network is described as the state's largest fibre-optic network and one of the largest telecommunications projects carried out for the purposes of security and public administration in Poland.
