The Wielkopolska Broadband Network (WSS) is a regional fibre-optic network built in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship under the Wielkopolskie Regional Operational Programme 2007–2013 (measure 2.7 ‘Information Society Infrastructure’). The beneficiary of the project ‘Construction of the Wielkopolska Broadband Network’ was the company Wielkopolska Sieć Szerokopasmowa Spółka Akcyjna, established by the regional government. The network comprises 4,594 km of fibre with 576 access nodes located in each of the 226 municipalities of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, along with backbone network nodes. The value of the project was PLN 410,439,349.55, of which co-financing from European Union funds accounted for PLN 283,637,280.48. Construction of the passive part of the network was completed by the end of December 2014, and the equipping of the network with active devices (the active part) was completed at the turn of September and October 2015, enabling the provision of the full range of services. The project covered 3.27 million residents of the region. At the completion of the investment, shares in the company were held by: the company Inea (majority stake), the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, and Asta-Net Asta Group.

The Wielkopolska Broadband Network is the longest regional fibre-optic network in Poland (4,594 km) and provided access nodes to all 226 municipalities of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, bringing broadband infrastructure to areas that previously lacked access to next-generation networks. Built under the 2007–2013 Regional Operational Programme, the network created open, wholesale infrastructure made available to telecommunications operators, supporting the development of broadband access for over 3 million residents of the region.
