A1 motorway Stryków (Łódź Północ) – Tuszyn (eastern Łódź bypass)
An approximately 40-kilometre section of the A1 motorway from the Stryków interchange (Łódź Północ) to the Tuszyn interchange, forming the eastern bypass of Łódź, built by the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). The investment was divided into three work packages: Package I (14.1 km, Łódź Północ interchange – Brzeziny) carried out by the Strabag/Budimex consortium for PLN 339,623,175.69, Package II (11 km, Brzeziny – Romanów) by Mota-Engil Central Europe for PLN 360,747,073.93, and Package III (approximately 16 km, Romanów – Tuszyn) by the Budimex/Strabag consortium for PLN 327,041,625. The tender was announced on 6 February 2014, contracts with contractors were signed in September-October 2014, and the entire section was opened to traffic on 1 July 2016. The total construction cost of the three packages was approximately PLN 1.03 billion. The route moved transit traffic away from the centre of Łódź and closed the A1 motorway route in the Łódź agglomeration area.

Significance
The opening on 1 July 2016 of the approximately 40-kilometre A1 Stryków – Tuszyn section created the eastern bypass of Łódź, moving transit traffic away from the city centre and closing the A1 motorway route in the Łódź agglomeration area as part of the north-south corridor. The investment, worth a total of approximately PLN 1.03 billion, was carried out in three work packages by the Strabag/Budimex, Mota-Engil, and Budimex/Strabag consortia, at an average cost of around PLN 25 million per kilometre.
