The Wrocław Motorway Bypass (AOW, A8 motorway) is a route of more than 35 km bypassing Wrocław to the west and north, built between 2008 and 2011 and opened to traffic in full on 31 August 2011. The investor was the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA), Wrocław Branch, and the project was financed entirely from the state budget; its value exceeded PLN 4 billion. Individual sections were carried out by, among others, Budimex SA, the Mostostal Warszawa / Acciona Infraestructuras consortium, and a consortium led by Strabag. The route's main structure is the Rędzin Bridge over the Oder, a cable-stayed bridge with the tallest pylon in Poland (122 m) and a length, including approach viaducts, of 1,742 m, ranked among the largest concrete bridges in the world. The Rędzin Bridge is part of this project and is not counted separately.

Significance

The Wrocław Motorway Bypass took transit traffic, including heavy goods traffic, out of Wrocław's city centre, closing the western-northern road ring around the city and connecting the national roads and the A4 motorway that feed into it. Its most recognisable element is the Rędzin Bridge over the Oder, a cable-stayed bridge with the tallest pylon in Poland (122 m), one of the largest concrete bridges in the world and the flagship structure of a project completed ahead of Euro 2012.

Independence is counted the same way the gate that admits a record counts it: subdomains and titles from one publisher are a single voice, Wikipedia is zero. That is why the number is lower than the number of links. Three is the minimum.
