DCT Gdańsk deepwater container terminal (Baltic Hub) – Terminal T2
The second deepwater quay (T2) of the DCT Gdańsk container terminal (Baltic Hub since 2022) in the Northern Port of Gdańsk, located between the existing T1 quay and the ore pier. DCT Gdańsk began construction at the start of 2015, and the new quay, about 650 m long (about 656 m according to the contractor) with a depth alongside of up to 17 m, was officially opened on 24 October 2016. The quay was equipped with 5 ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes, which allowed DCT Gdańsk's handling capacity to double from about 1.5 million to about 3 million TEU a year. The general contractor and designer was the Belgian company N.V. BESIX, with the Polish company NDI as its main subcontractor. The total cost of building the terminal was estimated at about EUR 200 million (some sources give about EUR 250 million); the operator remained DCT Gdańsk S.A.

Significance
The opening of the second deepwater quay, T2, in October 2016 doubled DCT Gdańsk's handling capacity from about 1.5 million to about 3 million TEU a year, strengthening the terminal's position as the largest and most modern maritime container terminal in Poland and a key container hub on the Baltic. The new quay, about 650 m long with a depth of up to 17 m and equipped with 5 STS cranes, made it possible to handle simultaneously the largest transoceanic container ships calling directly at the Baltic Sea.
