The MAN truck factory in Niepołomice was built as a greenfield investment in the Niepołomice Investment Zone. Cooperation between the MAN group, the Kraków Technology Park and the Niepołomice municipality began in 2005, and the plant was built from scratch in under two years at a cost of around EUR 100 million. The factory was commissioned in October 2007 and was the largest undertaking in the automotive sector in the Małopolskie voivodeship. The plant carries out final assembly of heavy TGS and TGX series trucks with a gross vehicle weight above 18 tonnes, intended for European markets; components (axles, cabs, engines) are supplied from MAN plants in Germany and Austria as well as from external suppliers. The factory belongs to the MAN group and has operated continuously since 2007.

Significance
