Construction of the Olsztyn tram network with a Solaris Tramino fleet (revival of trams)
The revival of tram transport in Olsztyn was carried out under the project 'Modernisation and development of the integrated public-transport system in Olsztyn', co-financed from the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland 2007–2013. Trams had run in the city from 1907 to 1965, and the system was reopened on 19 December 2015, when Line 1, Wysoka Brama – Kanta, was put into service; this was the only revived tram system in Poland. The project beneficiary was the Olsztyn Municipality, and its total value was PLN 650,136,059.57, of which EU co-financing reached PLN 384,788,279.51. The scope of the investment included the construction of about 17 km of new tram network, delivery of 15 Solaris Tramino trams (a contract of 21 September 2012 worth PLN 120.5 million gross), dedicated bus lanes and an intelligent transport system (ITS). Construction of the network formally began on 1 March 2012 (actually on 12 September 2012), and completion was originally planned for the turn of June and July 2014; construction of the new network was completed around the turn of October and November 2015. The original infrastructure contract with the FCC Construccion consortium (signed on 27 June 2011, worth approximately PLN 249.8 million) was terminated in August 2013, and the works were completed by, among others, Skanska, Strabag, Torpol, Balzola and Budimex.

Significance
The launch of trams in Olsztyn on 19 December 2015 was the only revival of a tram system in Poland (trams had run there from 1907 to 1965) and the first construction of a new tram network in a Polish city in decades. The investment, carried out with substantial EU funding from the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland, gave the city a new backbone for public transport (about 17 km of network, 15 Solaris Tramino trams) and became a reference point for the network's later expansion, including towards the Jaroty and Pieczewo housing estates.

Every fact on this card comes from the sources below. Next to each source – which fields it supports.
Independence is counted the same way the gate that admits a record counts it: subdomains and titles from one publisher are a single voice, Wikipedia is zero. That is why the number is lower than the number of links. Three is the minimum.
